WordPress Management

WordPress Management

Overview

WordPress needs regular attention to stay secure, fast, and working properly. Most business owners don't have the time — or the interest — to deal with plugin updates, security patches, and broken layouts. That's what we're here for.

Why WordPress needs ongoing management

WordPress powers around 40% of all websites on the internet, which makes it a popular target for hackers. Out-of-date plugins and themes are the most common entry point for attacks — and a compromised website can mean lost data, a blacklisted domain, and a very bad day for your business.

Beyond security, WordPress requires regular updates to core, themes, and plugins to keep everything working together correctly. Updates that aren't tested properly can break things. And when something breaks, you need someone who can fix it quickly — not a support ticket queue.

We manage all of this for our clients on a monthly retainer. You get a properly maintained website and someone to call when something goes wrong.

What's included

Our WordPress management plans cover everything your site needs to stay healthy and performing well.

Core, plugin & theme updates

We apply all WordPress updates on a regular schedule — testing them in a staging environment first so we catch any compatibility issues before they go live. No surprise broken sites.

Security monitoring

We monitor your site for malware, suspicious logins, and vulnerabilities. If something is detected, we deal with it immediately. We also harden your WordPress installation against the most common attack vectors — weak passwords, exposed login pages, and excessive user permissions.

Automated backups

Daily backups of your entire site — files and database — stored securely offsite. If anything goes wrong for any reason, we can restore your site to a working state quickly. This is your safety net.

Content updates

Need to update a price, change some copy, add a new team member, or swap out an image? Send us the details and we'll handle it — typically within one business day. No need to log into WordPress yourself.

Performance checks

We keep an eye on your site's load speed and flag any issues that could be hurting your performance or search rankings. WordPress can slow down over time as plugins accumulate — we keep it lean.

Not on a management plan yet?

If you have an existing WordPress site that hasn't been maintained properly, we can start with a health check — auditing the current state of your site, cleaning up any issues, and getting it to a good baseline before ongoing management begins.

We work with WordPress sites we've built ourselves, as well as sites built by others. If you're not sure what state your site is in, that's exactly the kind of thing we can help you figure out.

Common questions about WordPress management

Why does WordPress need ongoing management?

WordPress powers around 40% of the internet, which makes it a high-value target for hackers. Out-of-date plugins and themes are the most common entry point for attacks. Beyond security, regular updates are needed to keep everything working correctly together — and untested updates can break things. Proper management keeps your site secure, fast, and functional without you having to think about it.

Do you test updates before applying them?

Yes — always. We apply updates to a staging copy of your site first to catch any compatibility issues before anything goes live. This is one of the most important differences between proper WordPress management and just clicking "update all" in the dashboard.

Can you manage a site you didn't build?

Yes. We manage WordPress sites we've built and sites built by others. If it's a site we haven't worked on before, we'll do a health check first — audit the current state, clean up any issues, and get it to a solid baseline before ongoing management begins.

What happens if my WordPress site gets hacked?

We monitor for malware and suspicious activity continuously. If something is detected we deal with it immediately. Our daily backups mean that in a worst-case scenario we can restore your site to a clean, working state quickly — minimising downtime and data loss.
